All-County Band

All-County Band is scheduled for Friday, February 17th and Saturday, February 18th at Robinson High School. The high school county band will be performing the World Premiere of a new piece of music commissioned by the Cabarrus County School Band Directors. David Holsinger will be the conductor of the high school band and is the composer of the piece.

While we usually wait until late January to take requests for participation, the directors have decided to begin building the band now to give participating students ample opportunity to prepare their parts of this new work. Any student is welcome to request participation, but priority will be given to students who have made the South Central All-District Band, followed by students who auditioned, but did not make the band, followed by students in order of seniority.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Mr. Tulbert.

Festival Band Rehearsals

The band will travel to South Central District Music Performance Assessment (aka Concert Festival) on Friday, March 23rd. Between now and then we will have after school Festival Band rehearsals on Mondays from 3:00 – 5:00 PM. These rehearsals are not optional and the success of the ensemble at MPA depends on everyone participating in each after school rehearsal.

Our band is broken into two class periods during the school day, so these after school rehearsals are necessary in order to give us time to prepare with the full ensemble in the room.

If everyone attends, we will have seven (7) rehearsals with the full ensemble before taking the stage at MPA. Please make all necessary arrangements with your coaches, club advisors and employers now.

Student Account Statements

Student band account statements/summaries were sent home with all students last Wednesday. If you have not seen your student’s account statement/summary, please ask them for it as it is probably crammed in the bottom of their book bag, or inside their instrument case. We are in desperate need of students to fulfill their financial obligation to the band. Economic times are tough, but our bills have to be paid.
